ZOO'S ART + WRITING CHALLENGE (OPTION A): Magical Transformation!

Your Stygian/Treatling has turned into a magical sparkly version of themselves complete with a costume/accessory change, flowing ribbons and perhaps an annoying companion! Do they get special powers, maybe a magical wand? What compells them to fight on the side of justice, friendship and... l-love?? 

ZOO'S ART + WRITING CHALLENGE (OPTION B): Magical familiar!

Your Stygian/Treatling has turned into a magical familiar, a small friend-sized companion that offers helpful advice to magical figures of justice (and l-love??). If drawing, make sure the friend-sized shape is still recognizeable as the Stygian and resembles a friend-sized companion (such as a cat, dog, rabbit, etc), or some cute amalgamation of them.

You find yourself in a castle that is not your own. The walls are cold and the dust has settled evenly across everything. A bright, full moon shines in through cracked windows as you walk down a narrow hall toward a very large and ornate door. On the other side of the door you find a large room. Somehow the room seems both small and large at the same time. 

 At the focal point of the room a throne sits upon a dias. It is old; the paint flaked away and the velvet cushions faded to gray. Upon the seat of the once grand throne rests a crown. 

 The Crown glitters a warm gold colour in the cool, blue moonlight. That’s odd, though, for there are no windows in this room. The Crown shines as though it had been freshly polished. It wants to be worn. It once sat upon the head of a Monarch and it wishes to do so again. 

If -and only if- you heed the whispers in your mind and put the Crown upon your head, you will see a Kingdom. Your Kingdom. Not the realm of nightmare or dream you call home for that is far too small - but a whole new Realm where you rule. 

The Crown will show you what sort of Ruler you would be in this made up world. It will see who you could be. What will it show you? What sort of Ruler would you be?

When the vision is done, the Crown will crumble in your hands. Now is not its time, you are not its Monarch. It will sleep a while longer.

 PROMPT: Draw or write about what your character sees when they put the crown on. It can be a single scene, or a whole tale. 

 If you cannot think of what sort of Ruler they may be or Kingdom they would rule, you could instead opt to draw (or write about) them with the crown upon their head!

JOKER FACE

The circus is in town~ Draw your styg as a clown/mime/jester/harlequin/etc or write about them as such performing a trick or telling the King a joke or singing a funny limerick.

Alternatively write/draw your styg/treatling into a special Joker Card - what might it do to a deck of cards in lets say a game of legally distinct solitaire or something?

It was a beautiful day, almost exactly the right temperature and the right amount of wind and sun. While exploring your Stygian accidentally stumbled upon or rather into, a mushroom ring. As soon as one of their limbs touched the ground within a Portal to another world whirled to life. For now it's only glimpses but this world seems to be very different to what your Stygian has known so far. 

Write/draw about your Stygians decision. Do they enter the portal? If they do, what is the world like? Maybe they just take a peak without fully entering? Or is your Stygian strong willed enough to just leave the mushroom circle without falling Prey to its magic?

Your character blinks awake one day in a vast and endless field of flowers, a kaleidoscopic realm cradling them in its gentle embrace. The air is light, the sun is warm, and something feels inexplicably, indubitably wrong. When they try to remember what led to their arrival here... there is very little to be found; only a long stretch of blank memory, and traces of an almost sickeningly sweet smell. What is this place? How did they get here? And, more importantly, how do they get home? 

Draw or write about your character's reaction to any part of this scenario, and/or what they might do to return back to familiar pastures from here!

Birds of a Feather

Your Stygian/Treatling has suddenly turned into…. A bird? Draw/Write what type of bird they have become! Are they a small songbird, a long nosed Toucan or maybe a tall Emu? Mythical Birds are okay too! If further prompt is needed for art or writing: what is their reaction to becoming a bird and what sort of adventures/mischief would they get up to?

Art Quest: Draw your character as a cat meme! Any meme cat will do, as long as your character is recognizable! 

Writing Quest: Your Stygian/Treatling/Diver is a student at Monster School - where all of the attendees range from monster, creature, ghost, and ghoul - and has just returned from this year's Shriek Break vacay. What creepy classes are they taking? Are they getting up to mischief after having such a fun break, or eager to get back to studying? Or are they just focused on some kind of spooktacular after school event?

Your stygian/treatling/treat find themselves out to sea - are they a boat captain? Have they turned into a mermaid? Did they fall in love with one? Are they fishing? Did they become a fish? Have they lost their minds running a light house on an island all by themselves and now have arguments with seagulls and crabs??!!?? Please draw or write your characters and the sea.

Draw your stygian as a Jackogryph! Any kind of Jackogryph is fine.

Make sure your stygian is still recoginizalbe as themselves! Include their colour and any accessories or traits needed. 

If you cannot draw your Stygian as a jackogryph, you can write about their Jackogryph look and their reaction to it.
